Frequently asked questions

What happens after the beta?
When Tax2Books exits beta, accounts will be migrated to the appropriate paid tier based on their usage. We will give at least 60 days notice before any billing begins and will never charge without explicit confirmation.
Is my financial data secure?
All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). We maintain an immutable audit log for every change. Bank connections use Plaid's read-only access — we never store your banking credentials.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Your data is always yours. You can export journal entries, trial balances, financial statements, and the complete audit log at any time in CSV or PDF format. There is no export fee and no lock-in period.
Do you support multi-entity accounting?
Yes. Professional and Practice plans support multiple companies with fully isolated ledgers. Each company has its own chart of accounts, fiscal year settings, and user access controls.
What tax forms are supported?
The IRS form mapping module currently supports Schedule C, Schedule E, Schedule F, Form 1120 (C-Corp), Form 1120-S (S-Corp), and Form 1065 (Partnership). Additional forms are added based on user demand.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
No contracts. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time. Annual plans are available with a discount and can be cancelled for a prorated refund within the first 30 days.
What bank connections are supported?
Tax2Books uses Plaid to connect to over 10,000 financial institutions across the United States. If your client's bank is not supported, you can import transactions manually via CSV.
Is Tax2Books a replacement for tax preparation software?
No. Tax2Books is a bookkeeping and accounting platform. It produces clean, compliant financial data and tax worksheets that integrate with your existing tax preparation workflow (UltraTax, Drake, Lacerte, etc.).
